Last Night’s Service
by Michael Serna on Jun.30, 2010, under Events
Last night’s Pulpit Ministry seminar (it was rather more of a service) proved to be a success as new preachers and song leaders were born. Please pray for these people that they have continued anointing and conviction to do the work of God; but first, remember to thank God for what He has done in your life.
Thank you Lord for using me for your glory. I continue to pray that if this is what you will set forth for me to do, I will gladly accept it!

The Christian Approach
by Michael Serna on Jun.29, 2010, under Devotion
There was a time when Jesus focused his attention on the Jews rather than the other ethnicities. If your reading this post, chances are, you’re not a Jew. But if you are one, hello there! Please continue reading.
Israel’s rejections meant the lost of their God, for the leaders have rejected the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord did not reject His people (Romans 10:21), but He turned from Israel to the Gentiles (that’s a whole lot of other people!) – Acts 10.
“Therefore the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.”
- Matthew 21:43
Israel and the Jews had lost respect for God, so it was at that moment the kingdom of God was taken away from them.
Christians are a special people called to accomplish the special task of making Christ known throughout the dark and doomed world. If you’re a Christian, you don’t belong the the world’s system – John 17:14-19, but to a heavenly counterculture that is hated by the same world system that hated Jesus and crucified him. No matter what ethnicity you are, you can walk with with God. He gives us this gift free to all His children. Do you want to a good life not only in this world but in heaven when you pass away from this world.
Love One Another
by Michael Serna on Jun.28, 2010, under Devotion
34 A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; as I loved you, that you also love another. 35 But this all we know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
-John 13:34-35
Christian love isn’t a passing emotion. It’s a compelling motivation, engaged by the Holy Spirit and nurtured by prayer, scriptures, congregational worship, and sacrificial service. Christian love means treating others the way the Father treats us; so we pray, “Our Father,” we’re including both God and others.
What the World says about your Life
by Michael Serna on Jun.27, 2010, under Devotion, Greg Laurie
This world says, “You will never survive this crisis, the end has come! Even God has abandoned and forgotten about you!”
Jesus says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Jesus says, “Let’s cross over to the other side!”
This world says, “Death is the end. This life is all there is.” Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25 NKJV).
You may be going through a storm right now, or you too may have just been “shipwrecked.” You are not alone. Let God help you now. I urge you to “believe God,” like Paul.
Equipment and Epicenter Conference 2010
by Michael Serna on Jun.25, 2010, under Events, Random, Web
Today I inch closer and closer in getting my local church website finished. I have also invested a device into what hopefully will capture the sights and sounds of many preaching in high definition! I hope and pray for the best outcome possible!
I came home to witness a conference online being held in Philadelphia and boy it previewed of what’s going on today and what will come in the near future! The conference extends until tomorrow, and you can bet that I’ll be up bright and early for that one at 5:30 am! It’s on a www.epicenterconference.com
[Resisting] Temptation
by Michael Serna on Jun.23, 2010, under Devotion, Prayer
I had an outburst last Saturday of giving into something that wasn’t meant to be. Something that can only be conjured up by my own desire. Whenever we do experience these things and resist it and let God into our lives, it can be rewarding. But if we are not careful, dire consequences come about. I confessed, went straight to the cross, and gave in. Some people at a nearby church were kind of enough to pray for me. Thank you Ron and Mary.
Resisting Temptation is gutsy, courageous, stubborn refusal to violate God’s law. It’s repeatedly calling upon Christ for the strength to say no to the world, the flesh, and the devil-to say yes to God instead.
You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Tooth Extraction!
by Michael Serna on Jun.21, 2010, under Prayer
I knew I should of posted before I headed out to my appointment today. Well today I had to get 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled out. It’s not the best feeling in the world, but I hope this prevents other teeth from being “complicated” in the future. I can only hope and pray that God gives me a full recovery for me to attend bible study this Thursday and enabling me to preach next Tuesday evening.
Well I’ll be in bed all day today and tomorrow. I wish I could work on my local church website, but whenever I get up my head seems to feel so light. Pills are one thing, but it’s the power of God’s healing that will do the trick. I pray that I can get “some” stuff done tomorrow God willing!
Temptation
by Michael Serna on Jun.19, 2010, under Devotion
Temptation can always be troublesome deep within us . This comes from the desires of our evil hearts. James gives Godly insight on how to overcome this type of feeling.
Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
- James 1:14-15 NLT
