I’m looking forward to adding Pastor Raul Ries onto my iPod/iPhone during my communion with God in my daily travels to work and such. Such a Godly gentle man. Gotta love the reverence he puts in our minds.

Faith Above Feelings
by Michael Serna on Dec.30, 2009, under Devotion
“Now the just shall live by faith.” Hebrews 10:38 NKJV
Hebrews 10:38 teaches that we should live by faith. Yet sometimes, despite our best intentions, negative feelings can rob us of the peace and abundance that would otherwise be ours through Christ. When anger or anxiety separates us from the spiritual blessings that God has in store, we must rethink our priorities and renew our faith. And we must place faith above unpredictable, and often reliable. Our emotions are like the weather, only far more fickle. So we must learn to live by faith, not by the ups and downs of our emotional coasters.
Sometimes during this day, you will probably be gripped by a strong negative emotion. Distrust it. Reign it in. Test it. And turn it over to God. Your emotions will inevitably change; God will not. So trust Him completely as you watch your feelings slowly evaporate into thin air, which of course, they will.

Psalm 27:1-6
1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

A New Years Resolution of Commitment
by Michael Serna on Dec.26, 2009, under Devotion
Today marks the “Post Christmas” of Christmas where everyone have celebrated with their loved ones. Today is Saturday, so appreciate doing something off from your secular work. It’s close to that time where people start making their New Year’s Resolution. And oh, what a commitment that can be! Have you committed or recommitted yourself to Christ yet?
Times will get tougher within the next year. We cannot be complasive and be convinced that our world is getting better economic wise, environmentally, technologically, and continually being reformed with “change” of our nation and world. Are you prepared? And are you ready to experience the never-ending concern of this world? And of your life? Accept Christ and get geared up for trials and VICTORY this coming next year!
For it is said:
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:10-15)

Merry Christmas!
by Michael Serna on Dec.25, 2009, under Devotion
May the Lord bless each and everyone of you as you celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ today!
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
This is God’s Christmas for us all. Let us remember the birth of Jesus Christ! As we gather opening up our presents, it’s his presence that matter the most. May you enjoy Christmas this year by remembering Christ along with the gathering of family and loved ones. May God bless you all!
The Primary Message of Christmas | God Is With Us
by Michael Serna on Dec.24, 2009, under Devotion
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
— Matthew 2:2 NLT
The primary message of Christmas is this: God is with us. Isaiah 7:14 tells us, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Immanuel means, “God is with us.”
So the message of the season is not, “Let it snow” or even, “Let us shop.” The real message of Christmas is, “Let us Worship.” That is what the wise men came to do. And that is what we should be doing as well.

O Come All Ye Faithful
by Michael Serna on Dec.23, 2009, under Devotion
Today is my birthday, in 2 days it’ll be Christmas. Let’s not forget whose birthday comes around this time of year. Jesus Christ, the son of God.
O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God’s holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
